The 2025 General Assembly of EUMA was successfully held from 16–18 May 2025 at the Bohinj ECO Hotel & Wellness in Bohinjska Bistrica, Bohinj, Slovenia. This inspiring event was graciously hosted by the Alpine Association of Slovenia (PZS).
Warm thanks go to the Alpine Association of Slovenia for their outstanding organizational and logistical efforts — everything ran seamlessly, and the hospitality was exceptional.
The event gathered 50 participants, including 24 of EUMA's 30 full members, making it a strong and representative meeting of the European mountaineering community.
Alongside essential updates and strategic exchanges, the Presidium meeting was marked by productive collaboration. Special thanks to Juan Jesús Ibáñez Martín and Jan Bloudek for their valuable contributions to the Presidium over the past years. We were also pleased to welcome two newly elected members: Congratulations to Jan Cools (Climbing and Mountaineering Belgium) and Ivy Adamakopoulou (Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing)!
A key highlight of this year’s assembly was the launch of a Youth Forum, underscoring EUMA’s ongoing commitment to empowering young voices in shaping the future of European mountaineering.
We’re already looking ahead with enthusiasm to the 2026 General Assembly in Cyprus!
