From October 29 to 31, EUMA participated in the Europarc meeting held in Ireland. Every two years, the EUROPARC network of Sustainable Destinations, applying the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas, gathers to exchange experiences and best practices. With rising visitor pressure in many European Protected Areas, this meeting provided an invaluable opportunity to rethink tourism with a conservation-focused approach.
This year’s event centered on innovative solutions to manage visitor flow—a critical issue for Protected Areas working to create sustainable tourism experiences. Sustainable trail management was also a key topic, addressing the need to preserve natural paths and reduce environmental impact.
During the meeting, EUMA shared insights on responsible and sustainable mountaineering, contributing to the dialogue on protecting these special areas for future generations.
